Hey guys, I've got a solid pick for Thursday Night Football. The Chargers are hosting the Vikings and I think Justin Herbert is going to put up big numbers.
Herbert has been inconsistent behind a banged-up O-line, but he's still one of the top QBs in the league. He had 420 yards passing last week despite his team not doing much on the ground. With their running game in shambles, I expect the Chargers to be extremely pass-heavy, which should lead to plenty of attempts and yards for Herbert.
The Vikings have a good defense, but they blitz at a high rate, which Herbert excels against. He had an 87.4 passing grade against the blitz last year and is fourth in that metric this season with an 83.9 grade. If he gets better protection from his O-line, his ceiling will be even higher.
I'm also looking at some props for Herbert. I think he'll go over 253.5 passing yards, which is a good bet at [-110]. Additionally, I like him to throw over 35.5 pass attempts, as the Chargers will need to move the ball quickly to keep up with the Vikings' defense. Quentin Johnston might have a quiet night, so I'm also taking him under 48.5 receiving yards.
Overall, I think Herbert is a good bet to put up big numbers and lead his team to a win.
