I'm still buzzing from the Blue Jays' incredible postseason run. They've got a great shot at taking down the Dodgers in the World Series, and I think they can pull off an upset.
First of all, let's talk about the odds. The Dodgers are installed as heavy favorites, but I think that's because people are expecting them to repeat as champions. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays are getting some love from the public, which is interesting given their history of coming back from 2-0 deficits in best-of-seven series.
One thing that stands out about this series is the matchup between the two teams' pitching staffs. The Dodgers have a talented rotation, but they're also prone to struggles with hard contact. The Blue Jays, on the other hand, are one of the best contact-hitting teams in the league, and I think they can exploit that.
Take their catcher, Alejandro Kirk, for example. He's got a reputation for being tough on strikeout pitchers, and his numbers back it up. He's got a high K rate and a low whiff rate, which makes him a threat against the Dodgers' starters.
I'm also looking at the Jays' power game, which is led by guys like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette. They've both been hitting the ball out of the park all season, and I think they can keep that up against the Dodgers' pitching staff.
Of course, this is a tough series to predict, but I'm going to take a shot with my pick: Blue Jays in seven. The odds are a bit steep at +575, but I think it's worth it given the Jays' chances of pulling off an upset.
As for player props, I've got my eye on Alejandro Kirk as well. He's a great value at +500 to win World Series MVP, and I think he's got a good shot at it.
